CO-HEADLINER: Joanna Connor Band

Joanna Connor formed her band in 1988 with weekly appearances at the Kingston Mines in Chicago.  Her formidable guitar playing, and distinctive soul-churning vocal ability caught the attention of Blind Pig Records, who released her debut album “Believe It” in 1990.

Joanna and band shared stages with Blues, Rock and Jazz greats, including Luther Allison, BB King, Screaming Jay Hawkins, Robben Ford, Danny Gatton, Robert Cray, Jimmy Page, ZZ Top, Joe Cocker, Etta James, and others.

While working continuously in Chicago, a handful of videos of her incendiary slide guitar solos went viral creating quite a sensation and garnering attention from media and established musicians alike. Joe Bonamassa sought her out and offered to produce the kind of record he felt Joanna had always had in her and should deliver to the world.  4801 South Indiana is this record, a blues record that delivers all the raw emotion, passion, and fire that made the Blues so compelling from its inception. Joe Bonamassa did not merely produce, arrange, and play on the record, he enabled and inspired Joanna to pull from deep within her all of what her life in music had given her.

Now is your chance to see this great Blues artist whose music is alive and kicking… a once-in-a-lifetime Blues.

“Joanna Connor might be the best — or most original — blues-based
slide guitar player you’re likely to come across today. Or tomorrow.”

Deej SG & Co. – Come early! Deej has something special this year that will begin with a 10-minute “pre-show” jam with Bonnie Edwards & The Practical Cats, then culminate in the show opening song, an original Blues tune that Deej wrote for a “special circumstance” let’s say… Be there as we set the mood for the return of this great event with this first-ever delivery of Deej’s light-hearted, Zappa-esque tune! Particularly unique to this act is the fact that Deej is an “older learner” who began studying lead guitar in 2010 at the age of 50 and has developed his own original from scratch without learning covers or directly imitating any of his influences. That means everything you hear from Deej’s guitar will be a creation out of his own heart and soul… Let’s see where he takes it this year!

Bonnie Edwards and The Practical Cats – Bonnie’s dedication to the art of performing and her love of singing are the driving forces of her career. With her gutsy blues vocal style and dynamic stage presence, She puts her heart and soul into each of her performances.
