As a longtime associate of Mike Longo, (Dizzy Gillespie’s lifetime keyboardist) Andrew has now produced, directed and instructed on Mike’s heralded video instructional series “The Rhythmic Nature of Jazz”. Andrew has been instrumental in integrating the sounds of Be-Bop and Blues and has found a way to bring fresh interpretations to the blues classics. Playing a Hammond Organ out of a classic Leslie speaker along with a vintage Fender Rhodes piano, Andrew has the prototypical blues sound combined with a master’s technique.
Deej SG & Company Deej will create a unique musical experience based around his original Blues-infused style that others have noted hints of the Allman Brothers, David Gilmour, Billy Gibbons and early Stephen Stills. What is particularly unique about this act is that Deej is an “older learner” who began studying lead guitar in 2010 at the age of 50 and has developed an original and emotional style driven by a deep, inner urging to pour out his own heart and soul “in the moment” without attempting to directly imitate any of his influences… that drive continues so what you hear will be improvisation created on the spot just for this special moment in time! Deej SG & Company has a new surprise for the “& Company” part each year and we will let you know shortly who will share the stage for the opening set. Don’t miss a minute of it!
Memphis Lightning brings their own brand of ol’ school Rock & Roll and down and dirty Blues to the stage. Memphis Lightning was born out of tradition with a pedigree second to none. In recent years he was selected by The Maine Blues Society to represent the state of Maine in the International Blues Challenge Youth Show Case. His Dad is Grammy nominated and international touring and recording artist Darren “Big Red” Thiboutot who has recorded and/or played with artists such as Eddie “Bluesman” Kirkland, Pinetop Perkins, Lazy Lester, The Hoodoo Kings, Tab Benoit, Kenny Neal, Sonny Landreth, G.E.
